Abre Apps – Student Created Open Source Apps for Education
Chris Rose (Abre.io)
February 15th (8:00am – 9:00am) – A220/221
This session will cover how k-12 can create an open source app that can live inside the Abre Open Source Platform for Education. A template application will be presented in which the audience will be able to modify/create their own Abre application. Attendees will learn about GitHub and how to contribute their code back to the Abre Open Source community. By contributing code back, other Abre districts will be able to download and install student/district created applications. We will demonstrate how this works at Hamilton and how this can serve as a part of the computer science curriculum.
